DRIVE JEEP IN HIMALAYA

“The dream tour are the word BIKES reporter Johan Ahlberg used when he wrote the article about the tour he did with Himalayan Bike Tours November 2002.

After conducting motorcycle tours in India and Himalaya for severel years, we got an very good response from our customers. With this background we now starting our Jeep tours to give more people the possibility to explore the area of Himalaya in a new and different way. We know by experience that you don’t only want to sit quiet as a passenger in a buss or car on your vacation, you want to drive your self, that’s a part of the adventure!. So now we have this guided tours for you. On the tour there is a Swedish English speaking guide that has lived in this area for several years. He takes you on a ride at nice roads where tourists often never comes.

We start the tour down at the plain and drive up at narrow roads that bends trough Darjeeling’s world famous teagardens. Its a great view to see the huge gardens where the nepali ladies pluck the tea leaves by hands.. The scenery we pass by you can only find in Himalayas where the worlds highest mountains is located.

We even  will take you to the places where we not are able to go by motorcycles. We go on some roads where it takes Jeeps and 4-wheel drive to make it. One of these places are Sandakhpu who is located at a altitude at 3.650 meters. From there we have a good view over Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga who is the 3:rd highest mountain in the world 8.598 meters.
